get a yoga ball and do crunches? For obliques lay down on the floor on your side, prop your upper body with your forearm. Keep your butt down on the ground and raise it off the ground 10-12 times. Best core workouts on earth. You will not lose fat in one specific area just by training that one area either.
Oh yeah, that and you can over train very easily and make it extremely difficult to gain muscle again. A muscle group really should only be worked out intensely once a week to start out with. The rest time is so crucial for continual development. i.e. do peck workouts on a monday, recover till next monday and do it again. If you do not rest enough then you build scar tissue in that muscle which will not heal properly and your muscles will not develop as they should.
Needless to say I am completely against these 90 day blast your body into shape routines. A well executed body takes time to progress, not 90 days. _________________ -Just moved to Dport, so long Cedar Rapids- |

The Ab Ripper is intense. I can do about 15 of the 25 reps on most movements. There are a couple that are real tough. I'm hoping this recovery week has my muscles recouped and ready to excel this next 3 weeks. _________________ If men could only know each other, they would neither idolize nor hate.

Do it...imo...plyo is a much better workout than kenpo...perhaps its a throwback to the plyometrics we used to do for baseball in high school and that's why I love it...but I think its a far better workout for your legs...Kenpo's ok but as Tony has stated...plyo is the X in P90X.. _________________ "I like refried beans. So for those who are doing this, what is your idea to keep your body in tune after 90 days of insane work outs? Does the guy who does p90x have a plan for when the 90 is up or do you just do another 90 day cycle? Guess my point is for all the work you put in, keeping up after the 90 day program will be tough, and I think you will lose quickly what you worked so hard for. _________________ TEAM DISCRAFT http://www.discraft.com

Agreed. I just see it as a "get fit quick" scheme. Honestly, I have been lifting for 6 years, to see immediate results means you are overtraining yourself. If you lose more than 3 pounds a week it is harmful as well.
Do they teach you how to eat properly in this guide? _________________ -Just moved to Dport, so long Cedar Rapids- |

Almost all of the success stories in P90, P90X or P90X+ are people who are on their fourth or fifth round of the program. So it's really P360 or P450X. The 90 thing is for marketing. Yeah, you get it done in 90 days ... It's just 4 or 5 chunks of 90 days.
They also want you be able to pass a Fit Test (link to PDF) exam before starting P90X. Which is why I'm still on the much-less-intense P90. I know a handful of people who have gone from a fitness standstill and jumped right into P90X only to quit after less than a week. _________________ Orange Guy, Inc.

I do have a plan. I'll go back to my old 15 minute total body routine and I'll be out playing disc golf. I'm going to try and do one of the dvd's each week, probably core synergistics or yoga. I will no doubt regress a little, but I'm still ahead of the curve.
Like I stated in my first post, I've seen increases in strength, endurance and flexibility, and I don't feel over trained. _________________ If men could only know each other, they would neither idolize nor hate.
