Left disc on hole 2

Left disc on hole 2

Postby Marcovis » Mon Jul 23, 2012 1:31 pm

Pretty sure I left a green hornet on hole 2 about 40 foot to the right of the basket. It doesn't have a stamp and my info is on the rim. If its found, Ill be in Colfax next weekend for the Proflight Open. Thanks.

Just want to thank the a-hole who found my hornet and decided to sell it to play it again sports in Des Moines instead of calling me. Karma is a bitch.

 That shit sucks. Dont they require an ID when selling items in case they are reported stolen? Something is gonna have to be done with these places. Maybe only allow unmarked/ discs with your name on them.

so I'm curious Mike, did PIAS make you pay their "retail" price, or did they let you take it back since you could prove it was yours?

We had this discussion years ago about PIAS, but I think it was Iowa City. I'm not sure it's ethical for them to pay cash to chumps that bring in discs with other people's identifying marks on them.

Haven't been in to get it yet, Jamalle saw it a couple days ago. I know the guy that orders discs for that store so we will see how it works out. Jamalle said my name is still on the inside rim. I have other hornets and this one isn't special, but the principal of the whole thing irks me. I always call when there is a number on the back and I maybe get called on 25% of the discs I've lost over the years.

oh yeah for sure it's about principles. They're accepting/paying irresponsible disc golfers for NOT calling people and at least attempting to get a disc back to them. But at the same time, at least you have that opportunity to get it back if you really want it.

If you found a $10 bill I lost with my name on it would you call me and give it back?

Ha Joe, maybe because I know you. But somebody's name I don't know, nope, I'm saying thanks for the lunch.

I get it, there's two sides to the arguement. I mean, if you leave your disc somewhere, or resign it to being lost, you have kind of given up on it and it is on you. A lot of people don't mark their discs, and I've always said, no name, it's yours.

I think it's just more in the spirit of the game/good karma to make an attempt to get somebody their disc back if it's possible. But given my answer above to the question Joe poses, it's human nature I guess to want to keep what we find. We as disc golfers try and look out for each other. It's always cool when you get a disc back that you aren't expecting, it's unfortunate that it doesn't happen that often though.

I would give you $10.00 credit at Vicious Circle Disc Golf.
