Went out today and cleared all thorn bushes out from 16 right (current) placement. Both right and left sides.

All cut out willow on 15 to make a direct line to the basket. It's a start, but I think it will have to be widened even more. We can look at it on Monday night.

Show up tonight for some fun weed whackin'. I'll probably have some extra gas (stihl mix, can't remember ratio). I'll bring my old push mower too in case someone shows up without a trimmer and wants to help out there are plenty of greens and/or fairways that can be widened.

I'm planning to be out there tonight too. I'll bring my trimmer and can help as long as my back holds out.

Lots of good work out there last night. Holes 1-7 were trimmed, 3-6 had the fairways trimmed back a good bit. I think 9 was getting finished up last with the most substantial work to widen the fairway (logs and debris moved away from the hole, still some smaller trees and stuff to cut out so the city can run the mower out wider).

There is a lot that still needs done just along the lines of trimming stuff up. Hole 8 and 10-18 we didn't really get to. If you have a trimmer and a couple hours feel free to hit some of these up and post up if you do.

I think we had 8 guys out there, a little short of the 100 I wanted. Thank you everyone for pitching in. Unless something comes up the next official work day will be June 4th starting around 5pm and working until 8ish or whenever people wear out.

^ Agreed. Thank you to everyone that came out and helped. We made some good progress for only two hours worth of work. If someone wants to do some work on eleven through eighteen, you can work around directional markers and baskets and trees and do any widening of the fairways that you feel is appropriate.

Impromptu work tonight at Peninsula. Either working on cleaning up 13 to get that beast back in play or trimming...likely 13.

Anyone can work on the trimming of holes 8 and 10-18 whenever you like. Don't be shy, if you can cut it with a weed whacker go for it.

I was able to cut up the rest of the big tree that was down on the left side of the hole five fairway. I hauled the remaining logs over to the right side of the fairway and threw them all of the way to the back of the woodpile.

Anyone been out to the Peninsula lately? Has it been mowed again?

The city said we should be on a 14 day cycle. The interior was mowed the first of the month and the exterior was finished up exactly two weeks ago. I can't imagine there has been a ton of growth as dry as it has been.

REMINDER: Weed whacker party next Monday the 4th. Be there or be square. Hope to have a better idea of what needs done before then to post on. For sure we'll need to finish up 8 and 10 and clean up what we can on the back 9. That is probably enough to keep everyone busy anyway :)

Also, if you have volunteer hours out there that aren't from a weed whacker party please let me know via PM or email.

Stibs and Hamer I know you guys did some work. I'd like to keep a pretty accurate representation of the time we put into the course in 2012 and beyond.

Captain and I have that skidloader this Saturday. BE THERE. 12-3? We'll be there longer, but I don't want to wear anyone out or scare em away. I'll also have an extended reach hedge trimmer and reciprocator for clear cutting, so I'll need two guys to run those. I'll need a crew to follow the skidloader around, hooking up chains, cleaning leftovers, etc. We'll also be moving some railroad ties to 5's red tee, and will need some helpers to dig it out and fill it in. Might be wood chips to spread? Not sure yet. Tell your friends. Many hands make light work.

I will be running the Iowa Masters event in Newton so I will not be able to attend.
I have talked to Kevin and Martin about what I would like done with the skid loader.
