Stickers

Postby KePP » Wed Sep 04, 2013 4:34 pm

I am excited to tag my new discs with a sharpie, that is until I pull off the vague and gooey weight sticker that gives a ballpark figure like "177+" and then leaves sticky residue on the inside of the rim where my fingers go. Guess I just expect more from the world leader in disc sports for 35 years.

Acetone or rubbing alcohol will take that right off...or just get some dirt on it

Or don't put a fairly inaccurate sticker there. Or use stickers that don't leave goo, given that they'll be used on over a hundred thousand items. I realize I can get the goo off, just sayin' it taints the new plastic experience when it requires immediate maintenance.

Or, don't throw Discraft.

What about same on Latitude plastic, or the little blank white sticker on Innova, or worst of all, the dreaded price sticker?

seriously. i just grip around them if they are there. i love the predator, and it has raised text on the inside of the rim. never have i let that stop me from throwing that mold, just rotate the disc slightly so you aren't touching it. problem solved.

Some people, like me, have to grip the disc at a certain angle every time i throw.. Its just visual feel for me, may be superstitious for others. I have to have it around 2 o' clock. If the sticker is there, there are many ways to get rid of the stickiness, acetone being the best. Problem solved. Every disc company does this, and not on purpose.

The little white stickers on Innova discs that prevent suction actually come off without leaving residue - like a sticker on a sales item is supposed to. That is likely intentional because the person assigned to make the sticker was detailed enough to care. The Discraft person probably had the attitude of several of the responses above.

wasn't trying to be a jerk. it's a mild (at most) inconvenience in my mind, never really thought of it as a big deal seeing as how its on such a small percentage of the rim. i don't remove mine, they wear away on their own after long enough
