WTF happened with this plastic here?

I was digging through some boxes from Phenix at the League out here. I came across two RFF Wizards (MHDGC Stamped) that are the gummiest things I've ever picked up in my life. They seriously feel like the old Blowfly/Aviar cross that was the Supersoft Omega.

I've felt RFF plastic before, it's always been that soft, but still pretty stiff plastic. Is this a new run, is it everywhere? Did I score something rare?

It's so gummy I can't believe it doesn't flop in half in my hand.

I love it.

We got a bunch of RFFs in the batch of Wizards we got for the Challenge. They're chalky and soft, but definately not as blowfly'ish like 10up is describing.

that sucks. so it must be a rarity. They had a few dark green ones that were "pretty" flimsy but not nearly as much as the two I got. These two have just a hint of green and a little swirl, but are mostly white. Maybe they were switching out the plastics or something...

I wish I could find more... $12 a pop is waaaay better than $30 for a Soft Magnet or $40+ for a proto Omega. These wizards kinda fly like bricks compared to my Omegas though. It's gonna take some getting used to.

The first time I ever saw the rff platic it was those super gummy almost fold in half from gravity versions. A couple friends I know switched from r pro aviars to the wizards since they were so similar. I have noticed that the runs of rff are very inconsistent, like almost anything that gateway makes. But I have also noticed alot more of the super gummy versions at tournaments this year, so maybe they did another run of that flimsy plastic.

Gateway has consistency issues. The RFF's from the Challenge weren't that gummy, but the SSS's were. We got 2 of the SSS's and they are exactly what the OP is describing.
