In 2013 there will be a few changes. However the current points system will NOT change. Here is the link to the current points system. http://proflightdiscs.com/ProFlight/BAG_TAG.html
fixed your link for the points system
The point system really confuses me (nothing new there). So no matter where you finish you get 60 points? Unless it is one of the last four tour events if you have not already played seven events on the year then you get 70? BUT if it's not one of your top 7 events then you don't get the bonus points? I'm even more lost than when I started

The scoring is broken into 3 categories. There will be 13 Iowa Tour events.
Number of Tournaments Played
Division Results at each Tournament
Bonus Point Possibilities

Number of Tournament Played:
10 points – for each of the first 7 events a player competes in
20 points – for each additional event after 7 a players competes in
Division Results at each Tournament:
Points per Event: (minimum is 50 points for finishing the tournament, DNF is always ZERO points)
Place Points
1st 200
2nd 170
3rd 140
4th 110
5th 90
6th 70
7th and Worse 50

Bonus Point Possibilities
Last 4 Events Bonus: A player who does finish in the top 6 will receive 20 bonus points in the last 4 Iowa Tour events. These 20 bonus points are not counted unless that tournament result is used as one of your 7 events counted toward your final point total.

Iowa Tour Division Top Finisher:
Division Winner – if Iowa Tour Member gets 30 bonus points for winning your division
Top Placing Iowa Tour Member (if not Division Winner) gets 10 bonus points

Can anyone answer the points system question yet?
Can't criticize our smile...

You you get 10 points for every event you play of the first 8, 20 for the last 4 events. If you play all 12 and do not place in the top 6 at any you will get 300 points for the top 6 scores counting. 80 for the first 8 events 80 for the last 4. 480 is what you will get for just playing all 12 tournaments, and not placing better than 6th.

Now say you play the first 5 events and one of the last 4 events, also you don't place in the top 6 at any of them. 6 events 6X50 =300 for your score first 5 events you got 10 for each event played so 50, now we are at 360. Bonus points for the last event =20. Your total is 370.

Hope this does not add to the confusion.

Where can I find rules for bag tags? I have a couple questions. When does the challenge need to happen? How do the tags need to be displayed? I was challenged for my tag on the 18th hole of a tournament round but i thought the rules said you had to challenge before the round. Also, if the tags aren't on the outside of the bag how do you know that the other person has a tag or what tag they have?

If the guy is on your card he doesn't have to challenge you, it's on. Off-card challenges have to be discussed prior to the round. As far as displaying the tag, it doesn't really matter. If you're worried about it, all you have to do is ask if anybody has a tag before or anytime during the round - remember if they're on your card the challenge is not optional.

I believe they only HAVE to be played for at Iowa tour events. Now usually it's a given that they are on the line for any tournament round, even a rec round. I would never put a tag up for grabs in a double event tho...Don't be a fag, it's a god damn piece of plastic.... I've run into some shady shit with people hiding them, "forgetting" them, etc. It should be brought up before but if you wanna be a d-face about so be it.
Not directed at you, just people in general.

I also heard earlier this year that someone got mad because he was beaten in a round, but beat the person overall in a tourny and said the tags are for overall....Not the case

I remember seeing these before. It had said that challenges must be accepted for any tournament or league singles event but they must be made prior to the round (not 17 1/2 holes in). It also clearly stated no hiding the tags. Not that I don't believe you guys but I would like to see a copy of the rules.

Does this also apply if you only play one day and it is not the division you signed up for? I played INT at Walnut but did not play ADV due to other plans. I also will be playing Atlantic in INT but not ADV for the same reason. How will my points be calculated?

I usually just ask after the round if i remember. I dont know why you would have to "officially" challenge them for the tag that is already automatically on the line "before" the round. If the rules do state you have to challenge BEFORE the round, then thats messed up.

I agree. You have to play for them in Iowa Tour events, no way around it, we asked this question last weekend. You should be playing for them anytime you play 18 holes of regular DG. Anyone who tries to get around playing for them is a cock goblin.

Kurt was asked this question this weekend by Steffen..Like I said, twice already you have to play for them in Iowa tour events, all other rounds you have to agree on it. Passive aggressive ass

I wanted to make sure I remembered it correctly before I stated it as fact.
