I'm sure he would, not to say he's got nothing better to do, but if he saw you on his property and you didn't pay, i'm pretty sure as the landower he has the right shoot you. on the other hand, if he was out walking around he'd probably have a beer and smoke a cigar with you.
i think this is a great idea. i just need 18 people to sponsor a hole, or a group of 5 people could go in, 100 a piece and have all your names on one hole.
