One of the best things about this event is that it ends on Sunday. So you have Monday with most of the holiday travel to get back to your home if traveling. That being said, going a little long on the courses shouldn't be a determent to the courses. Food for thought. Now the other thing that almost always gets me in trouble...where is a good place to eat on Sunday nights? It is a holiday but it always seems to be so many places closed.....any ideas???

One of my favorite places in Des Moines is Jethro's

I recommend the Adam Emmenecker - if you think you're man enough.

Thank god you don't have anything to say about it I on the other hand can tell you that hole 9 at Walnut WILL be played from the LONG TEE.

Previous years has been hit and miss with standing water but its been clear for about a year now if not longer. Spotters may be an issue, but of you spot the group behind you it shouldn't be that much delay.

We will be having a workday this Saturday 4-20-13 at Big Creek. We will be starting around 10AM.

I NEED EVERYONE AVAILABLE TO COME OUT AND HELP.

There is a TON of fallen limbs, broken branches that need cleared from the sides of the fairway/schull and hauled off of the course. I will have the utility cart and trailer out there to make this as easy as possible but need some workers.

Bring gloves, hand saws, chain saws.

This year you will get a raffle ticket EACH time you come out and help on Workdays*. The club will be giving away various disc golf related items along with one paid entry into the Des Moines Challenge presented by G&L Clothing.

* minimum of 1 hour of service OR until work is completed whichever is shorter.

This is True @ Sat, and generally try to visit when I come up as well if I am there for a few days, and make it known that I frequent it B/C of their sponsorship to DG, and tip above what most probably do as well because of it.

Ok, Who is the absolute genius of this?

I am stealing this idea, this is a great idea entirely to get people off the fence. Absolutely love this idea, love it. Even if I can't get the BoD of our club to do this, I am going to be doing this myself if I have to pay for it. This is Guinness Brilliant right there....

Just a few updates folks:

1. Proud to announce that First Class Credit Union has rejoined our sponsorship pool. Not the title sponsor, but more added cash than last year for sure.
2. For those of you who have committed to a hole sponsorship or are interested in doing so, let me know and I will get things going. I will not lock in the sign until either myself or Jay Greenwood has money in hand. He will let me know if he gets a request and I have a master list of what holes have been committed so far.
3. Registration is open!! Hop to it peeps!! You can pay for a hole sponsorship when you register.
4. Remember the incentives for turning out for course work days. Winter was not kind to our courses and in order for us to present the conditions Des Moines Disc Golf events have grown accustom to, we need the help.
5. Shirts are ordered. Going to have nice dry fit shirts.
6. At the moment, we are on pace to exceed last year's added cash by at least $1000 (probably a lot more)! We will be taking care of the AMs with added cash too.

More to come. I know there are a lot of events between then and now, so I will keep the news rolling and you keep the registrations rolling.

Later,
Damon
