Yeah, unfortunately Des Moines is not in the middle of the state. Think the borders got redrawn a few years ago...That honor goes to Iowa City now. We live in Western Iowa.

I think your best idea is that Hunter's Ridge course in Marion with Urbana, Legion, or Shaver. The 2 dates in Sept that look the best to me is Sat the 7th with Exchange on Sun, or Friday the 20th the day before Newton.

I think we did zero on top of greens fees one year, but usually 10-20.

Usually. A little cheddar to make it interesting.

Hunter's Ridge is a great links style course. There are 3 public courses in CR worth playing (Ellis, Jones, Garner). They are all nice courses (comparable to Waveland) and green fee with cart is less than $35. Hunter's a little more expensive, but a little nicer (and fewer trees).

As far as time goes, it took us 4 hrs to play each round at Wildcat yesterday (in a 6-some, dubs); Shaver or Legion would be faster.

If you want a real tester of wits, we should play Peninsula and Finkbine. Finkbine is $50 to play.

HR is under $30 if we tee before 11am m-f

June 21st?

If we can avoid July 19 would be awesome. PJ@wrigley 8)

Shaver is probably tougher than Legion these days....and it's closer than Wildcat.

I also really like the Friday. It's a nice reason to take a long weekend and doesn't seem to affect attendance.

agree with ya that wildcat would be a longer day so that will be a future event not this year i like legion more than shaver for the fact it would be more fair to all competition i think i would say plan on 15 or 20 dollars over fees for payout definately on a friday like later in the year but open for debate but would need month n half to get time off . keep throwing out ideas i need them kevin i looked at those courses you mentioned would need your advice for which one of the three is best if we go that route .hunters ridge being under 30 would be sweet but do we want to ball golf first ? i dont care either way really . nice paragraph
