New Signs @ Legion

New Signs @ Legion

Postby AO » Thu May 22, 2008 9:21 am

Was playing a round last night and a kid was taking pictures of the signs with his mother. He said that he was going to make new signs for his Eagle Scout project. I thought it was cool. Anyone know anything about this?

At Chase's King of Eastern event on 5/14 we had the same thing: a kid and his mom taking pictures and using a measuring wheel to make new signs for Davenport.

Someone has been taking a blue marker and putting graffiti on the signs. They are also all over the trash cans and benches.

I noticed that yesterday. I wish someone would have spotted the douche bag doing that.

A Scout need 150 man hours (total, not just personal) to complete an Eagle Scout project, which is one of the last steps to earning your Eagle Scout. It's a test of leadership. You can get materials donated, but most likely, to get those kind of hours just off of making signs, he'll be organizing scouts (who also need volunteer hours for various achievements) to make them themselves. I would almost expect wooden signs routered out, painted and sealed...probably with new, ground measured distances.

Big ups to all the Eagle Scouts playing DG. I wasn't even into discin at 18. I built playground equipment.
