911 should still work even if it is disconnected.

you can actually have it as a full-on working contractless phone with a little tinkering Rod. Assuming you have a plan with "unlimited" data..

You would have to tell them that you're deaf, to be honest. In that case, you can get it with unlimited data and unlimited texting. I only know this because I work there.

DirecTV users, here's one for you.

Last night Batman Begins was coming on FX HD. It was late, so my wife just hit the Record button. Oddly, it then said something like "this will be recorded" and the little record light did NOT come on.

Now when we look in the List (recorded shows), it shows Batman Begins from channel 9981 (or something like that) a PPV channel. And it has the little "$" next to it. If you click into it, it says it costs $3.99 and you have to order it.

Since when CAN'T you record a movie from FX -- a normal (non-premium) channel?

Direct TV aired Batman Begins on their PPV channel the same time as FX. They do this a lot in hopes of people who search by the menu accidentally select their PPV option rather than the free network version. I'm guessing your wife recorded the PPV listing. The best way to go about it is to record the program from the actual program on the guide.

You gotta love what capitalism has become. Plain and simple, Chuck the customer anyway you can. Tv, phone, credit card companies have all adopted this strategy.

Pretty sure capitalism has always been about caveat emptor. There is no altruism. Customer service and corporate citizenship are done for the bottom line. Consequently, the less competition, the less need for customer service.

The real scary possiblity is regressing back to Laissez-faire economy, as the "I've got mine" teabags are convinced they want.

Hmmmm. I'll check on that. I'm guessing she was already tuned to FX, saw it was just starting, and just hit the little orange button on the remote. But maybe not??

I've got 2 season tickets for the Bobcats. They are each a hard-card credit-card looking thingy. Just 2 of them for the whole season -- not individual game cards.

So how do I sell individual games on stubhub? Having never stubhubbed, I'm clueless. I read the seller info but didn't find anything about this.

"season-ticket holders who want to transfer or resell tickets will be able to access a link through the team’s website to forward or print out the ticket." Dont know much about stubhub though.

Okay, har har. Well anyway I used this old thing called the "telephone" and was able to find out about some online ticket manager dealio. Sounds damn complicated. You'd think they'd make it easier to put butts in the seats.
